Well, that's SCARY!

               The Resident Evil  6 was made for the sixth film of the Resident Evil Movies Series i.e. Resident Evil -The Final Chapter. If you haven’t watched this movie yet then I highly recommend you watch it.

               Resident Evil 6 is developed and published by Capcom. It was released for PC in March 2013. There are 4 separate story campaigns and in each campaign player there are different characters and the player can even switch to a different character other than the default character. There are a total of seven lead characters in the game. There are some legendary characters from the previous Resident Evil games too, like Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield. Chris has a different partner in the game, not Sheva from Resident Evil 5, and Leon don’t work alone in the game, he has a partner now. The third campaign story is of a new character known as Jake Muller.

RESIDENT EVIL 6 STORYLINE REVIEW

JAKE and SHERRY

               Here is the surprise element, Jake Muller that I have mentioned before is the son of Bio – Terrorist Albert Wesker. Let’s begin with the plot. On 24^th December 2012, Jake Muller flees local authorities during a bio-terrorist attack in Edonia. His partner is a girl named Sherry Birkin  who is a D.S.O. – Division of Security Operation agent who was there to extract him from the infected place to create a vaccine .Sherry was one of the few people who survived the Racoon City (Where the first virus outbreak happened .) Her dad was a doctor who made the antidote for the T-Virus. Actually, the blood of Jake contains the antibodies required to make the vaccine. Jake was not like his dad, Albert Wesker, he was different .This game introduces a new type of virus names C-Virus. They are hunted by a huge bio-weapon named Ustanak.

               Meanwhile, there is a Bio-Terrorism Security Assessment Alliance (B.S.A.A.) strike team lead by Chris Redfield and Piers Nivans who are deployed to fight the infected people. They get attacked by a woman who says that she is Ada Wong and she is the leader of the Neo – Umbrella. Ada kills almost everyone in the B.S.A.A. team using a device that injected them the C-Virus, after which they became cocoons and the hatch and become monsters. She kills every B.S.A.A. strike team men except for Chris and Piers. Chris blames himself for the death of his teammates and remembers how he used to fight with those men and now they were all dead. When Sherry and Jake were trying to escape, B.S.A.A. sabotaged their extraction and the ended up crashing into the mountains. There they were captured by Ada Wong for six months.

CHRIS REDFIELD and PIERS NIVANS

               There is a monster in the game worth mentioning. It was a giant snake that was mutated by the C-Virus. It was not easy to kill as it was really huge and on top of that, it was invisible and invincible to bullets. It killed most of the men of B.S.A.A. We are able to defeat it after a long chase and by using some brains instead of bullets. We kill it with an electric shock. There is a very very very long rooftop battle between the J’avos and Chris and Piers which also includes helicopters shooting at us.

                On 29^th June 2013, the U.S. President Adam Benford  tries to disclose the secret to the public that the virus outbreak happened in 1998 in Racoon City was the work of Umbrella Corporation and he was also going to reveal the deal of government with Umbrella Corporation to stop the further  Bio- Terrorist activity . However the place where the meeting was going to happen i.e. American Town of Tall Oaks gets hit by another attack and the President gets infected. The survivors, D.S.O. Agent and a Racoon City survivor Leon S. Kennedy and U.S. Secret Service agent Helena Harper were forced to kill him before he turns into a zombie. Then the Duo meets the real Ada Wong. Then Leon comes to know that the National Security Advisor Derek Simmons is working with Neo – Umbrella and was responsible for the attack on the President. Leon and Helena go after Simmons and reaches Lanshiang, China and at the same time, Jake and Sherry escape from captivity in Lansing. The Ada campaign is full of puzzles, really a lot of them and the Ada campaign is the only campaign where you have to work alone therefore it was a bit scary for me.

              Chris then returns to his duty in the B.S.A.A. along with Piers and lead a new team. They were now deployed in Lanshiang, China. Chris now seeks revenge from Ada Wong due to which he lost his men again. Eventually Chris and Piers confront Ada and were about to kill her but the Leon arrives and Chris and Leon fight hand to hand combat for a few seconds then point a gun at each other face and then they realize who was the fighting with. This was a very cool fight, I played this mission twice just to see this cinematic, it was really amazing. Leon tells Chris to let Ada go as she was not the main culprit of the attacks ( She was a friend of Leon but he never accepts that )  but Chris wanted to take revenge. Ada escapes from there with the help of Leon. At that point in time, Leon didn't know that it was the fake Ada whom he was saving. Chris and Leon pursue Ada and reaches an aircraft carrier and destroys the missiles there which contained the C- Virus. Back in Lanshiang , Leon, Helena, Sherry, and Jake fights Simmons. Sherry gives Leon the medical data of Jake in case she will be not able to make it. Then Leon and Helena confront Simmons who is now infected by a J’avo. He confesses that he killed the President to maintain national security. Leon and Helena fights the monster Simmons and on the other hand, Jake and Sherry get captured again. When Helena and Leon were leaving the city, Chris calls Leon and tells them that he failed to destroy one missile and it was heading their way. Leon tells Chris that Jake is the son of Albert Wesker and he is the only one who can help in making the vaccine.  Chris and Piers rescue Sherry and Jake in a remote oil platform. Leon and Helena were able to kill Simmons with the help of Ada.

On the oil platform, Chris tells Jake that he killed his father Albert Wesker, and tells him that he can shoot him if he wants. Jake points the gun at Chris's face but didn’t pull the trigger. Chris, Piers, Sherry and Jake get attacked by an extremely huge B.O.W. Chris tells Sherry and Jake to leave the place and save themselves a Jake was a V.I.P. Chris and Piers fight the B.O.W. . This B.O.W. is the largest in the Resident Evil Game Series. While fighting with the B.O.W. Piers get heavily wounded and he injects himself with the C- Virus to mutate himself and help Chris to escape the place. The B.O.W. was hardly affected by the bullets but Piers get mutated by C-Virus and get some kind of superpower of shooting thunderbolts or something like that. They were able to defeat Haos – the huge B.O.W. Piers knew that his mutation will increase and it will be a problem therefore he sends Chris alone in the escape pod and uses his powers to destroy the facility. Chris didn’t want to lose another team member but there was no choice, therefore, Piers did what was necessary. In this particular scene, my eyes were filled with tears, I got emotional. Piers was a great guy …… Chris was then left alone again, he lost all of his men just like before.  Meanwhile, Sherry and Jake were successful to escape the base and then killed Ustanak.

ADA WONG

               The woman who called herself Ada was actually a scientist named Clara Radames and Simmons forced her to transform into Ada. The real Ada was helping Leon and Sherry and was destroying Neo- Umbrella lab in Langsiang . Clara was presumed dead after being shot by one of the Simmons’ soldiers. But she injects herself with a heavy dose of C- Virus and attacks the real Ada Wong but eventually, she gets killed.

THE FAKE ADA WONG!

               In the end, Ada destroys the lab where her clone was made and accepts a new mission. Leon and Helena get cleared of duty. Chris remains in B.S.A.A. and commands a new squad. Sherry continues as D.S.O. Agent and Jake starts a new life in which he fights with B.O.W.s in an underdeveloped country.

 
RESIDENT EVIL 6 GAMEPLAY REVIEW

               As I mentioned earlier Resident Evil 6 game allows players to select between four scenarios. All four scenarios are interlinked. Each scenario has one protagonist. The protagonists are – Leon S.Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Jake Muller, and Ada Wong. Each Protagonist has a partner which are controlled by A.I. when playing in offline mode and there is also an option of online multiplayer too. Each character has their own unique abilities like some can carry more ammunition than others, some just reload their guns faster and some take less damage than others. Unlike the Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, you can now run and shoot at the same time which is of great help when you are surrounded by zombies. Just like the Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 4, there are many quick action events in the game where you have to tap a button fast or tap multiple buttons as fast as you can to dodge the attack of the enemy or to run away from huge monsters you can’t even think of killing. Dude, there is this huge monster in this game, it’s a B.O.W – Bio Organic Weapon who is so huge that you can't even think of killing it. All you can do is run.

                There is a change in how you heal yourself. Now you have to take pills instead of herbs but you have to make pills from herbs first then you have to place the tablet in the box and then you can heal yourself. If one of the partners has critical health then that player gets a short time to defend himself from the enemies while his teammate comes and revives him. Just like Resident Evil 5, if your teammate dies, you lose, the game starts from the last checkpoint. There is an new kind of enemy introduced in this game called J’avo. J’avo are zombies with brain that works . They have the ability to interact with each other and they can also plan an attack . They use weapons and can also heal themselves . J’avo can also mutate and increase their strength in battles and just like Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 , the mutation depend upon the body part you shoot . To be specific there are 15 types of mutations in the game. In Resident Evil 6 there is a new feature that when an enemy die , they leave skill points behind . You can use these skill points to purchase some skill and upgrade them . You can also upgrade your weapons using the skill points . There is also a “ Lone Wolf” feature in this game in single player mode in which player can remove A.I. controlled player and can play the game alone ( Who will do that?and why?) . Players can equip only three upgrades at a time . Just like Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 there is a stamina bar which drains when you sprint or perform melee attacks . You can use a quickshot in this game by which you can kill the enemy by one shot . This also drains the stamina bar (I don’t know why).

               The partners you get in Resident Evil 6 are far better than the Partner you got in Resident Evil 5 . I am saying so because the partners in Resident Evil 6 are not totally dependent on you and they don’t end up taking your stuffs . You AI teammate will assist you better than Sheva (The teammate of Chris in Resident Evil 5). There are lots of spooky stuffs in the game and there are jump scares to therefore its better to have your friend play with you rather than an AI .

               There is some changes in the zombies in Resident Evil 6 . They are faster than the Zombies of Resident Evil 5 and of course way much faster than the zombies of Resident Evil 4.

               As always Resident Evil 6 has incredibly strong environment and their creature design is accurate, the zombies and B.O.W.s look like monsters and Heroes look like heroes. The lighting of the  game is also perfectly organised. Since the environment is the essence of Resident Evil games, they did a very great work on the detailing of the atmosphere. Resident Evil 5 was almost all time day but Resident Evil have most of the events at night .(I think all of them).
