FAR CRY 3 REVIEW

              

FAR CRY 3  is a first-person shooter game with amazing graphics details. In my personal view it is one of the best first-person shooter games I have ever played .

FAR CRY 3 BOAT TRIP

FAR CRY 3 MAIN CHARACTERS:-

SURVIVORS:-

• JASON BRODY - Jason Brody drifted from one job to another without finding any that could sustain his interest. He instead devotes his passion to extreme sports (the sky-diving that landed on Rook is just one example among many) and his girlfriend, Liza. He is the Protagonist of the game . 
• LIZA SNOW - Jason's Girlfriend.
• RILEY BRODY - Youngest of the Brody brothers .
• GRANT BRODY - Elder brother of Jason and Riley . He joined the army after graduation.
• DAISY LEE - Grant's Girlfriend.
• OLIVER CARSWELL - A good friend of Jason . He is Rich and a Drug Enthusiast . He was the one who paid for the vacation trip.
• KEITH RAMSAY - He is a friend of Jason and a successful Wall Street Banker.
• VINCENT SALAS - A friend of Jason.

ALLIES:-

• AGENT WILLIS HUNTLEY - Agent Willis Huntley is a CIA operative who provides Jason Brody with information about the islands and its inhabitants. He's also the writer of the in-game "Survival Guide".
• SAM BECKER - Sam Becker was an infiltrated agent posing as a high ranking Privateer for Hoyt Volker through Rook Islands CIA agent Willis Huntley.
• DOCTOR ALEC EARNHARDT - He is a doctor who set up a lab on the northwestern end of the Rook island and now makes his living making and selling drugs to clients throughout the area- including Vaas.
• CITRA TALUGMAI / MONTENEGRO - Citra is known as warrior goddess . Citra is cloaked in the mystery of old ritual and superstition. Charismatic and beautiful, she yearns for power and wishes to return her tribe to its former glory. 
• DENNIS ROGERS - Born and raised in Liberia, Dennis Rogers is no stranger to war and poverty. He eventually left his home and immigrated to America. After drifting from job to job he found his way to Rook Island and met Citra.

ANTAGONISTS:-

• BAMBI "BUCK" HUGHES - An ex-Australian military man, Buck is a sadistic murderer and slaver who is seeking an ancient Chinese knife.
• VAAS MONTENEGRO - Simply put, Vaas is downright nuts. He's also violent, unpredictable,  prideful, and extremely dangerous. Vaas started on this downward spiral when he became addicted to drugs brought to Rook Island by Hoyt Volker. He eventually joined up with the self-appointed warlord after Hoyt promised him power and wealth. Now, on an island of madness, he is the most feared madman of them all.
• HOYT VOLKER - Hoyt Volker is the primary antagonist of Far Cry 3. He is the leader of the Privateers and also rules the South Island.

FAR CRY 3 STORYLINE

               The whole game takes place in an Island known as Rook Island . The protagonist of the game is " JASON BRODY ." JASON along with his brother and friend went to Bankok vacation to celebrate as his younger brother got his FLYING LISENCE. Enjoying the vacation the group of friends took a wrong turn and ended up in the ROOK ISLAND which is controlled by the PIRATES. There is this guy named "VAAS" whom you can also see in the main poster of FAR CRY 3 , he is a very interesting bad character in the game. VAAS kidnaps a the tourists and ask for money from their family in form of ransom and after he gets the money he kills the tourists . He captures the 8 friends in order to get money from their parents and families .

               VAAS keeps JASON and GRANT in the same cage made of bamboo where he tells them what was going to do next. When VAAS leaves GRANT and JASON somehow manage to get out of the cage. But when they were escaping the area VAAS sees them and he shoots GRANT . JASON somehow manages to escape and falls in a river from where he is saved by a man named DENNIS . DENNIS is a member of RAKYATS . RAKYATS are the rebels of the island who are constantly in fight with PIRATES. DENNIS makes a tattoo on JASON'S forearm saying that he sees the warrior-like qualities in JASON. This tattoo continues to grow as the game continues and as JASON acquires the skills of a RAKYAT warrior. JASON tells him about everything that happened to him and DENNIS helps him to find his friends and brothers.

               DENNIS tells JASON about a woman who managed to escape VAAS and was then with DR.EARNHARDT. JASON goes to DR.EARNHARDT'S house and finds DAISY. After meeting DAISY, JASON leaves to find the other members of his group.

               DENNIS takes JASON to the sacred temple of RAKYATS where he meets the RAKYAT LEADER CITRA. JASON  was the 2nd outsider to enter the sacred RAKYAT TEMPLE (1st was DENNIS). To test JASON , CITRA tells JASON to find and bring her the stolen sacred " DRAGON KNIFE."

               As JASON continues his search for his friends he gets captured by the pirates  and they take him to VAAS . VAAS ties JASON up on a chair and JASON finds that LISA and OLIVER were also there tied to the chair. VAAS tells him that CITRA is his sister . While talking , VAAS spreads petrol all over the place and sets the place on fire .VAAS takes OLIVER with him and leave LIZA and JASON to burn . JASON somehow escapes and saves LIZA too. He takes LIZA to a cave at DR.EARNHARDT'S place.

               After that JASON saves all of his remaining friends and then decides to leave the island by an old boat in the cave . As JASON saves his friends , he also helps his new 'Rakyat ' friends to take over the ROOK ISLAND and defeat VAAS . Then JASON meets with CIA AGENT WILLIS. Agent WILLIS worked for CIA to get Intel about VAAS and the Drug Cartels in the Island . He tells JASON that VAAS works for a man named HOYT. After some time JASON finds that his younger brother  RILEY is also dead . Now JASON had nothing to lose therefore JASON becomes a brave warrior and he starts enjoying killing the pirates . Seeing the bravery of JASON the RAKYATS started respecting JASON  more and more . JASON then returns to the cave where his friend were waiting for him so that they could leave the Island ASAP and he tells them that they have to leave without him as he has decided to stay on the Island.

               Later in the game, the affair between CITRA and JASON begins and one-day CITRA gives JASON some kind of drugs and Jason starts hallucinating. Meanwhile, in the game, JASON tries to kill VAAS multiple time but eventually he fails and when VAAS tries to kill JASON , he somehow survives. JASON, after a final long knife fight, kills VAAS.

               After killing VAAS, JASON promises CITRA that he will kill HOYT too. AGENT WILLIS helps Jason to kill HOYT , and tells him about an another agent , a friend of  WILLIS , SAM , who worked for HOYT as an undercover agent . SAM tells JASON that his younger brother RILEY  was still alive. SAM sets up a meeting with HOYT for JASON . HOYT tells JASON that they have a prisoner and he wants JASON to get some answers from that prisoner by beating him up. JASON finds that the prisoner was his brother still he was unable to do anything . Therefore to gain the trust of HOYT he beats his brother in front of the camera HOYT was watching . HOYT invites him and SAM at a POKER GAME where he kills SAM and tells that he knew about SAM being an undercover agent from a long time . HOYT then tries to kill JASON but JASON somehow survives and kills HOYT ...WITH A KNIFE  (KNIFE IS THE ULTIMATE WEAPON ..I'M TELLING YOU).

               JASON then saves his brother RILEY and leaves . LIZA calls JASON  to tell something but she couldn't because of network issues . When JASON reaches to the cave at DR.EARNHARDT'S place he finds that DR.EARNHARDT'S place was burning and DR.EARNHARDT was going to die . DR.EARNHARDT tells JASON that RAKYATS did all this and they also took his friends to the sacred temple of the RAKYATS .

               JASON then goes to the RAKYAT TEMPLE where CITRA gives him sleep powder and he falls asleep . When JASON opens his eyes CITRA tells him to kill all his friends and join RAKYAT .CITRA tells him that she was doing this because she loves him and she doesn’t want him to leave. Now at this point in the game you get two choices :-

1.         Kill all your friends and join CITRA and RAKYATS.
2.       .    DO NOT join CITRA and RAKYATS and save the friends.

               If you will chose the first option then JASON wakes up an kills all his friends with the ANCIENT KNIFE (KNIFEEEE AGAIN) and then CITRA and JASON have SEX with CITRA on top of JASON . When JASON impregnates CITRA , she kills him by stabbing him with the ANCIENT KNIFE (ULTIMATE WEAPON) . Then CITRA tells him that she only wanted his seed as their SON will be the true RAKYAT WARRIOR and she doesn’t need JASON anymore . ( Wait a minute … what if the child will turn out to be a girl? ... She really didn’t think about that ?) . Then JASON dies and the game ends but then after the credits you get to continue playing the game . You play the game as JASON’S ghost as JASON is dead (J.K.).

               If you will choose the second option then JASON rescues his friends and tell CITRA that he cannot stay there forever . Listening to this CITRA got disappointed but DENNIS got angry and tries to kill JASON with the ANCIENT KNIFE( KNIFEEEEEE)  but CITRA comes in front of JASON and DENNIS kills CITRA instead. While she was dying she says that she loves JASON . Actually we don’t know if CITRA really loved JASON because in first choice she KILLS JASON but in the other choice she SAVES JASON .

REVIEW

STORYLINE OF FAR CRY 3 – The storyline of the game is really amazing. I think the storyline of FAR CRY 3 is better than other FAR CRY GAME story . Actually it is better than most of the movies . The story is very unpredictable and the player hardly gets to know what would happen next. The characters in the game are very astonishing . Each character has his/her own amazing traits. The incidents that occur in the game are very nicely placed. Each incident is very important and one incident leads to another . The cinematic are also very impressive . I WILL GIVE FAR CRY 3 – 9/10 FOR STORYLINE.

GRAPHICS OF FAR CRY 3 – The graphics of the game is better than the games that were released on the same year . The graphic designers did a lot of works making the game look real and the game does look real at many places . I say the graphic quality of the game is REALISTIC. I WILL GIVE FAR CRY 3 – 8/10 FOR GRAPHICS .

GAMEPLAY – The gameplay is pretty smooth . It is a low spec game and its works really well on low end PCs. I hardly found any glitches or bugs in the game .

EXTRAS :-

KILLING DOGS :- There is a lot of killing of dogs in the game . In all the games of FAR CRY the player is free to hunt the animals they see in the game . You can kill anyone you want and you don’t even have to worry about the police. But since I am a dog lover , I hate killing DOGS but there are actual missions in this game where you have to kill not one but a huge number of dogs . The dogs in the game gets rabies and you get the mission to burn all the infected dogs . It was a hard time for me in the game. I had to do it to complete the game 100%. There is another mission in which you have to kill a rabid dog but when you get to the rabid dog you see that there are many other dogs surrounding her and if you will that rabid dog all other dogs attack you and you have to kill them all . I know it is not a big deal for you but it is for me as I love dogs .

THE GHOST OLD LADY – There is a side mission in the game where you meet an old lady who tells you that there was a plane crash the previous day . So JASON goes to the crash site and all he finds were debris of a very old plane crash , maybe an year old. However when JASON asks a person there if there was any plane crash the previous day the man says know and asks JASON who told him about the plane crash. When JASON tells him that an old lady from the village nearby told him, the man gave a strange look and told JASON that THERE IS NO OLD LADY IN THE NEARBY VILLAGE .

DR.EARNHARDT’S GHOST – Many FAR CRY 3 players have this belief that there exist DR.EARNHARDT’S GHOST at the place where he lived . I never found his ghost but yeah the battle music starts all of a sudden even when no one is on sight . Maybe that is random . But there is this horse toy in the room in this house which moves on its own every time I visit that room.

DR.EARNHARDT'S PLACE AFTER HE WAS KILLED.

THE MARIJUANA MISSION – There is a marijuana mission in this game where you have to burn the marijuana fields ( and watch it burn). I personally like that mission very much , I don’t know why . Maybe the smoke passes through the screen.

VAAS IS NOT DEAD - There is a theory that VAAS is not dead as after JASON kills him with KNIFE we never get to see the dead body of VAAS.

FAR CRY 3 MOVIE -  There is a short movie on FAR CRY 3 you should watch before playing the game . It is available on YOUTUBE. It shows the incidents that took place before the friends landed on the ROOK ISLAND. The VAAS in the game was a different character but when the FAR CRY 3 MOVIE was released the actor who played VAAS acted so well that the VAAS in the game was also changed. There is one more interesting fact about the game and the movie . VAAS buries a man in the sand on the beach till his neck and you can actually find that man in the game if you will do a bit of searching. The picture below is the picture of that location . It took some time but eventually, I found the place.

TATTOO - In the whole game there is a TATTOO in JASON'S hand which is given by the RAKYATS . The RAKYATS call it TATAU. This tattoo grows throughout the game with each skill you acquire . It is an interesting thing in the game.

COMPLETING THE GAME 100% :-

You can complete the game 100% by doing the following things –

1.  COMPLETING MISSIONS – 38/38
2.  CAPTURING OUTPOSTS – 34/34 – Kill all the pirates in the pirate outposts. (reinforcements too)
3.  FINDING THE LETTERS OF THE LOST – 20/20 – You can find these letters near rotten dead bodies.
4. COMPLETING TRIALS OF RAKYAT MISSIONS – 12/12
5.  COMPLETING HUNTING QUESTS- 23/23 – Hunt specific animals with specific weapons
6.  TAPPING RADIO TOWERS – 18/18 – Climb the tower, tap it.
7.  FINDING RELICS – 120/120
8.  FINDING MEMORY CARDS -20/20
9.  COMPLETING ASSASSINATION MISSIONS – 24/24
10.  COMPLETING SUPPLY DROP MISSIONS – 19/19

PROGRESS STATISTICS

            I was not able to complete the game 100% because of 1 god damn mistake . I don’t want you to do the same mistake so I am telling you this . As you can see I was unable to collect one RELIC . I started collecting relics after I completed the MAIN MISSIONS . The RELIC is kept in the CAVE where you kept your friends after rescuing them (At DR.EARNHARDT’S place). The thing is the cave gets closed after you complete the main missions  as JASON’S friends leave the island . There is no way to access the cave after the completion of the story . Therefore I was unable to collect that particular RELIC. You should get that RELIC BEFORE THE COMPLETION OF THE STORY  to complete the game 100%.

WHERE IS THE NO.1 RELIC = INSIDE THE CAVE (REMEMBER)

Even after the 100% completion of the game, there are lots of stuff to do in the game. The pirates keep coming from the sea and you can finish them all, kill them all. You can kill anyone you want because the game do not punishes you for doing so. You can click photos from your camera. You can visit interesting places in the game. You can burn marijuana fields =. You can play different games inside the game like POKER & KNIFE THROWING =.

               The game is really very interesting. It is one of its kind . If you have not played that game yet then go and play it immediately .
